Artist Interview: King Kavon
From New York City recording artist King Kavon gained over 30,000 views with his visual release for "Bodega Dreams" and hasn't stopped applying pressure since. Check out his interview with Du'Lanci Vallie below.
If you wasn't in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?
If not dancing or acting, I probably would be getting involved into things that I have no business getting into. Which is why I’m thankful to have music in my life.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I would change how we look/scout for artists. There are so many talented artists out here, especially in New York City. The problem is that we always gravitate to what’s hot right now instead of longevity.
What is your latest release and where fans can find it?
My latest release is called RZA and it’s available on all streaming platforms.
Are you able to make a living with your music? If so, how were you able to attain a career doing what you love? If not, what do you do in order to fund your music career? What advice would give to someone who's interested in pursuing a career in music?
No, not at the moment but I am working on it. I’m self employed right now and I’m working on ways to build multiple streams of income. My advice to other artists is keep going. Ignore the hate and the fakes.
If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band... Who would you choose and why?
J Cole is one of the artists who I would collab. Him and I can relate to a lot of things in life. How he came up is similar to what I’m going through.

Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?
I actually like both. But I like the studio more because it’s my happy place. Lowkey, it’s feel like meditation.

What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2022?
I’m on EP mode right now. My second EP is called How Novasin Got His Groove Back Pt. 2. I’m also on my second mixtape, 11:11 Pt. 2. It ain’t my first album but it’s sure gonna feel like it.
