Artist Interview: Stormii Blu

Stormii Blu is thriving recording artist from Queens, New York and has been creating a massive buzz with her recently released project "Other Side". Check out her interview with TGWEWON's Du'Lanci Vallie below.

What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?

I think my biggest advantage is that I'm growing independently and I can choose what I want to do as far as my career rather than somebody telling me when and how to move cause I'm attached to them or maybe in contract etc… my disadvantage would be is not having a team. Everybody usually has a team , manager, people that promote & push them so things happen for them faster (in my opinion). I myself don't have any of that … Its way harder when you do it all alone.

If you wasn't in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?

Definitely would be a Physical therapist right now. Still have to finish college for that . Put that on pause for music

In your own opinion, What is the current music scene like in your local area?

Drill Everybody Loves Drill . Especially Sample Drill Beats . It's A Vibe , Everyone Gravitates To It.

Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues?

I performed everywhere in ny just about. Queens , brooklyn, long island , harlem . Also performed in Orlando florida. Least favorite venues can't say cause the venues aren't really the issue it's the people that host the events that be the problem. My favorite was most definitely when I did “Toast To The Queens” At New Vault Cafe In Long Island Wit Dj Freedom In Long Island . That Was lit & Exciting . Do you have any upcoming shows? I Do September 8th & Some Other Ones Im Putting Together. I'm Going To Make Big Announcements Soon.

Are you able to make a living with your music? If so, how were you able to attain a career doing what you love? If not, what do you do in order to fund your music career? What advice would give to someone who's interested in pursuing a career in music?

I wouldn't say make a living because i'm not near where I want to be as of yet but am I making money with my music? Yes i've made money with music & still do. I Gotta Be Honest I don't think what independent artists make in my position is much UNLESS YOU ARE GETTING PAID TO DO SHOWS . Which I have as well but for the most part however ways we was getting it before the music is the same way we getting it to build our career . However that is whether its 9 to 5s, other careers we may have or whatever. Advice I would give somebody who wants to do music is for one always believe in yourself . Secondly , study other artists preferably your favorite and see their journey on how they got successful & take notes . Always PROMOTE YOURSELF NO MATTER WHAT . & try to be apart of as many events as you can that's how you name gets around . Stay outta the drama too … it can cause conflict & trust you dont want that when you trying to grow as a artist.

What is your latest release and where fans can find it?

My Latest Release Is My Tape “Other Side”. You Can Find It On All Platforms , The Main Ones Being Itunes , Apple Music , Youtube … Definitely A Different Vibe.

What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2022?

I have a lot of shows coming up. More visuals because everybody is asking for those . Definitely starting something big coming up that I will also be announcing soon as everything is settled. Just a better me , more focused, more on my grind & more in my zone. It's no letting up. I hope everybody ready for the storm.
